Tell us what AFOQ consists of and what were your motivations for creating it?

AFOQ is the first Association for physiotherapy patients, osteopathy, and chiropractic that pursues the intrusion and malpractice of these professionals.

I was prompted to create AFOQ by an injury I had eighteen years ago caused by a physiotherapist who was not registered and was practicing the profession., leaving me with a handicap 77% . I want to avoid, as far as possible, that other people have to go through this ordeal.

How can you help people who are affected by the bad practice of these pseudo-professionals??

The experience of my case has led me to assemble a team of collegiate professionals specialized in the needs that those affected themselves will need. , What are physiotherapists like?, psychologists and a legal department to channel cases that may arise.

What are the cases of intrusion that you most often encounter??

There are them in many areas: in sport, in hair salons, beauty centers. There are academies that teach non-regulated education and therefore the title is not official and is not valid to practice the profession., This causes them to proliferate in many places..

We have found cases of patients who have been treated by intruders but do not report them because they knew them. What would you say to them??

First of all, I insist, the client must ensure that they go to professionals who have the appropriate qualifications. That despite knowing them, they must ensure that they are duly qualified and registered..

How can you ensure that you are treated by professionals??

A phone call to the professional association is enough for the citizen to check if the person who assists them is registered., mandatory requirement to be able to exercise. If the physiotherapist is qualified and not registered, he is breaking the law, since these two requirements are necessary to exercise. The General Council of Colleges of Physiotherapists of Spain (Cgcfe) urges citizens and Physiotherapy professionals to report through the schools' websites.
